Skimming
If you are struggling with cracked or bumpy walls, skimming or ‘skim plastering’ may be the answer. It involves applying two thin coats of plaster to smooth walls or ceilings – leaving the surface perfect and ready to paint or wallpaper.
Skimming is ideal for all wall types – new construction and refurbishment works. If you are looking for an imitation lime finish universal one coat would be a good equivalent.
Rendering
Rendering is the process of applying cement mixture to walls. The aim is to achieve a smooth or textured – depending on whether you’re rendering an internal or external wall.
Ideal for a solid, traditional base for plastering internally and for older properties that need an external makeover.
Lime plastering
Lime plaster is made up of water, sand and lime. Lime plastering is breathable and helps to let your property breath as intended. Lime plastering is ideal for listed buildings, both internally or externally.
Tacking
Tacking is a term for dry lining when you are applying the plasterboard to metal or timer substrates. Tacking is ideal for renewing ceilings or walls on refurbishment works or new timber / metal stud partitions.
Dot and dab
Similar to tacking, if the plasterboard is applied to masonry, then it is called dot and dab. This is because the plasterboard is applied with dabs of plaster adhesive before it is sealed.
Dot and Dab is ideal for new builds / extension walls / refurbishment walls – it saves drying time compared to internally rendered walls.
Floor screeds
Floor screed is a material which is made up of cement and sharp sand. The primary purpose of floor screed is to create a smooth and level floor and it has excellent thermal insulating properties.
Floor screed is ideal for new build and refurbishment projects – can also be applied over underfloor heating.
Liquid screeds
Liquid screed floor provides a fast and precise floor covering. Ideal for underfloor heated systems within your property as it allows the heat to diffuse evenly. When you don’t have enough allowance for a 65mm screed, we can lay a liquid renovation screed as thin 15mm over low profile heating systems.
